Jack & the Beanstalk slot review

Jack and the Beanstalk is Net Entertainment’s most ambitious and visually impressive slot since Robin Hood.

Release date: December 12th 2011.

Robin Hood looked great but sadly the gameplay just wasn’t well balanced.

So – is this one any better?

Jack and the beanstalk

Well, I’m really happy to report that – Yes – it definitely is better than Robin Hood.

It shares some elements with that game, the reel look similar and there are some nice animations.

There is a Walking Wild in Jack & the Beanstalk. That means that any time you see a Wild on screen it moves one space to the left with each subsequent spin. Nice.

Walking Wilds

When a Wild symbol appears on the reels, a re-spin is awarded.

  • During the re-spin the Wild symbol moves one reel to the left with chances of more winnings.
  • Re-spins continue as long as a Wild symbol is present on the reels.
  • All wins with Wild symbols pay coin win x3.
  • The Walking Wild feature appears both in the main game and in Free Spins.
  • Free Spins cannot be triggered when a Walking Wild is active.

As long as there is a wild on the screen the spins are free – until the wild drops off the edge – that can lead to some nice wins if you get a Wild on reel 5!

The free spins round is a massive improvement over Robin Hood and matches that on frankenstein!

Free Spins

  • 3+ Scatter symbols activate 10 Free Spins.

You collect keys throughout the free spins and each set of three keys opens up new wild bonuses from the Treasure Collection.

The key symbols found on the 5 reel in Free Spins unlock the following Wild features:

  • 2 Stacked Money Bags Collect 3 key symbols, and any new Walking Wild appearing on the reels turns into a Stacked Wild of 2 money bag symbols.
  • 3 Stacked Golden Hens Collect 6 key symbols, and any new Walking Wild appearing on the reels turns into a Stacked Wild of 3 golden hen symbols.

The bags of gold bring in a double stacked wild, the Golden Goose introduces a 3-line stacked wild and the Golden Harp brings with it expanded wilds.

When you take into account the fact that any spins with a wild showing are free spins this can result in really really nice wins – see the screenshot below as an example.

I was really afraid that this game would turn out like Robin Hood did but I’m extremely glad to say that it hasn’t.

This is an instant classic!
